Bedbugs in Salisbury? How to Spot, Treat & Prevent Infestation
December 22, 2025 · by Prince Caldwell
Bed BugsBed bug infestations start small. A single hitchhiking bug in a suitcase from a hotel stay, a piece of used furniture, a child coming home from a friend's sleepover — and six weeks later the mattress seams are active. By the time bites appear on skin, the population has usually been established for weeks.
Signs to check
- Small rust-colored spots on sheets and mattress seams (digested blood)
- Tiny pale yellow shed skins (nymph molts) on the box spring or headboard
- Bites in small rows or clusters on exposed skin at night
- Sweet, musty odor in the room as the population grows
What actually works
Bed bugs reproduce in places most homeowners never open — screw holes in headboards, seams inside box springs, wall outlets, wall voids behind the bed. Spot-spraying the mattress does nothing. Our room-by-room treatment combines residual products at every harborage, desiccants in voids, and steam where appropriate — then a mandatory follow-up visit 10–14 days later to catch the next hatch cycle.
Prevention
Inspect luggage at airports and hotels. Never bring used mattresses or upholstered furniture inside without inspecting the seams first. Use mattress encasements if you travel often.
