Why can't you just trap the bats and remove them?

North Carolina bats are protected. Trapping and relocation isn't permitted and, even if it were, new bats replace the colony within weeks. Humane one-way exclusion combined with structural sealing is the only lasting fix.

What if I need them out immediately?

If the exclusion falls inside maternity season (May 1 – August 1), we cannot install one-way devices — pups would be orphaned and trapped. We can inspect, seal secondary entry points, and schedule exclusion for August.

Is bat guano actually dangerous?

Yes. Dried guano can release Histoplasmosis spores when disturbed. Sanitation requires protective equipment — don't clean it yourself. We handle removal and decontamination.

Will the bats come back?

Not through sealed entry points — those are warrantied. New bats may try other areas of the structure; our inspection identifies every vulnerability so everything can be sealed at once.

The Process

Inspect

We identify every entry point — often no wider than half an inch — along roof lines, soffits, ridge vents, and chimney flashing. We confirm species so timing is legal.

Treat

One-way exclusion devices let bats out at dusk but prevent re-entry. After 5–7 nights, the colony is gone. Every other gap gets sealed during the exclusion window.

Protect

Once the attic is confirmed empty, we seal the primary exit and sanitize guano contamination. Your attic is bat-free and won't re-infest at the treated points.

Killing or trapping bats is illegal in North Carolina and counterproductive — other bats smell the roost and move in. Exclusion is the only long-term fix. Done properly, it respects maternity-season law, evicts the colony humanely, and the full structural seal ensures no new bats discover the entry.
